Our Sincere Gratitude to Fr. Silva

“ Before the world was made,God chose us in Christ to be holy in His sight”. These words were taken from a letter written by St.Paul to the Ephesians.

Father Silva was chosen to come to us for four months while Father Anthony has been caring for his mother.

Many of us have found Father Silva to be “ holy in His sight” .Father Silva is a very good priest. He loves being a priest.

God has given Father a beautiful gift —- the gift of joy. Father Silva radiates joy and he has spent these past four months sharing his joy with us.

Pope Francis would love Father Silva. Not so long ago, Pope Francis encouraged his Cardinals, Bishops and priests to be more like a real shepherd and become more involved with their flocks. He even said something about getting their feet dirty — just like real shepherds.

Since March first , the day Father arrived, he has been right in the midst of all of us.

Lent was a very prayerful period for Good Shepherd Parish . Father was very generous with his time in encouraging us to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Holy Week was absolutely beautiful and Father offered us every opportunity to participate in the Liturgies of the Triduum .

He has been very involved with Confirmation and First Holy Communion and for this we are most grateful.

Father Silva you have truly enriched us in so many ways . Thank you for your kindness and love.
